CIBER Field, University of Denver Soccer Stadium — After 94 scoreless minutes, Southern Methodist University midfielder Stanton Garcia tucked away an extra-time golden goal off a throw-in from Bryce Clark and flick-on from Mauro Cichero to knock the University of Denver Pioneers out of the NCAA tournament. Suffering their first loss at home in 30 games, the Pioneers created more chances and attacked more directly, but a minor communication error in the back turned into a throw-in near the corner flag, the final play of the season for Denver. Finishing 15-1-3, the Pioneers allowed only eight goals in 2015. The golden goal ended a seven-match shutout streak (797 minutes).
